To complement the finest vibrations of nature captured in our essences, we are privileged to have found a pure source of spring water from Wales, UK: Llanllyr Source Spring Water. Llanllyr Spring sources lie beneath fields in unspoilt west Wales that have been farmed organically by the same family since 1720.

We are required by the British Association of Flower Essence Producers (BAFEP) to include alcohol (brandy or vodka) or vinegar in each bottle as a precaution against bacterial growth. For reasons of palatable taste, we decided against the use of brandy or vinegar in the production of mother & baby essences, and have used vodka. Just as the purity of the water was a key issue for us in making our essences, so was the purity of the vodka. Our extensive search led us to use an award winning, UK distilled, organic vodka.

Being mindful of the stage of life and possible concerns over alcohol intake, at purely essences we have followed the BAFEP guidelines for producing our essences, and have included the recommended minimum amount according to their instructions. We clearly state the % volume of alcohol on each of our bottles: e.g. taking 5 drops daily, a 30ml bottle contains 15% by volume of vodka and will last between 4-6 weeks on the recommended dosage, so intake is kept to a minimum.
